Ethio-Life continued to be the ONLY specialized company in the life insurance business in the Ethiopian insurance industry until August, 2012 In consideration of the immense potentials and viability of the general insurance business emanating from the rapid economic growth of the country, shareholders of Ethio-Life were determined to expand the service of the company by including Non-life (general) insurance products into its business portfolio.

Position 1: Store Keeper

Qualification: BA/BSC degree in Management/Accounting /Economics/ Statistics or related field of study from a recognized University

Experience:  A minimum of one(1) year of relevant experience in business organization

  • Insurance business experience

The following additional qualities & abilities required:-

  • Handles queries from customers on policy terms, conditions and exceptions
  • Calculates premium for the class of business and sum insured using rate charts
  • Issues underwritten policies to customers after ensuring premium settlement or arrangement of payment

Place of work: Addis Ababa

Position 2: Underwriting Officer-I

Qualification: BA/BSC degree in Management/Accounting/Economics/Marketing/Statics or related field of study from a recognized University

Experience:  A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in insurance business

Insurance business experience

Qty: 3

The following additional qualities & abilities required:-

  • Checks verifies and passes for approval renewal notices every month and follows up renewals made
  • Provides verifications for claims notified as may be necessary
  • Complies and up-dates all underwriting information

Place of work: Addis Ababa

Position 3: Claims Officer

Qualification: BA/BSC degree in Management/Accounting /Economics/Marketing/Statistics or related field of study from a recognized University
Experience: A minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in insurance, on claim handling
Insurance business experience
Qty: 2
The following additional qualities & abilities required:-

  • Enters particulars of claims on claims registration book
  • Prepares claim notification slips for outstanding claims
  • Registers particulars of settled claims on claims register book

Place of work: Addis Ababa

Position 4: Underwriting Officer- II

Qualification: BA/BSC degree in Management/Accounting /Economics/Marketing/Statistics or related field of study from a recognized University

Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in insurance business

Insurance business experience

Qty: 3

The following additional qualities & abilities required:-

  • Handles queries from customers on policy terms, conditions and exceptions
  • Calculates premium for the class of business and sum insured using rate charts
  • Issues underwritten policies to customers after ensuring premium settlement or arrangement of payment

Position 5: Senior Claims Officer

Qualification:  BA/BSC/ degree in Management/ Accounting/ Economics/Marketing/Statistics or related field of study from a recognized University

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in insurance, on claim handling

Insurance business experience

The following additional qualities & abilities required:-

  •  Checks that claims are handled in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy and general guidelines of the company;
  • Assesses, reviews, studies and analyses all claim notifications and reports to the Division Manager;
  • Prepares payment for repair cost or claims due to be paid;
  • Verifies certificates, invoices, court decisions and other documents of claims

Position 6: Senior Underwriting Officer

Qualification: BA/BSC degree in Management/Accounting/ Economics/Marketing/Statistics or related field of study from a recognized University

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in insurance business

Insurance business experience

Qty: 3

The following additional qualities & abilities required:-

  • Assists in planning underwriting and branch operation activities
  • Conducts pre and post risk surveys
  • Conducts market studies to explore and exploit market opportunities
  • Checks and initials on documents after typing and ensures that endorsements, clauses, warranties
