The role of this job to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential merchant, customers and maintain the existing customers

Main Duties

We are looking for a M-PESA Trade Development Representative to act as the liaison between our Distribution, Marketing, and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers (Merchant) and maintaining existing customers.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with Merchant, from first contact until you close the deal. You will also be requiring ensuring proper visibility and branding of the services and products. We’d like to meet you if you are motivated and results-driven and enjoy working in a team environment. Ultimately, you will boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth.

  • Onboarding Merchant’s
  • Visting and market activation excecution.
  • Use of working tools and reporting system & handling of work.
  • Number of onboarded merchant.
  • Float availability of agent.
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Contact potential clients in person, through calls, and emails
  • Present our company products and services to potential clients
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with Merchants
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients  
  • Report to the immediate supervisor on (daily, weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually)
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans Possessing excellent
  • knowledge to enhance customer support “Getting the sale” using various sales methods
  • Forecasting sales, developing “out of the box” sales strategies/models and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Report and provide feedback to immediate supervisors using financial statistical data Maintain and expand the client database within your assigned territory.

Job Requirements

Work Experience


  • A minimum of BA  Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Sales, Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering and related fields.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in digital marketing, sales and IT.
  • Work experience in fields related to mobile money marketing is an advantage.
  • Applicants shall speak the regional language(s) of the places they apply to and also understand the culture, norms and the society in that particular city/town.
  • Applicants should also be able to speak, write, read  and communicate freely in English language.
Other Skills:
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative,  or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Familiarity with Digital literacy and MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Technology friendly
