Established in 2021 by Skillmart Educational Development SC, SKILLMART ACADEMY isa Kindergarten School currently located at Kotebe 1 Fermata, adjacent to Woreda 12 Health Center operating with the aim of providing quality education. 1.KG Assistant Teachers

Summary of Job Requirements:

Any successful candidate for this advertised KG Assistant Teacher position is expected to work under the supervision of a Main Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. The assistant teacher assists with the implementation of the daily curriculum, classroom management, and overall supervision of students.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of that cater to the lessons individual learning needs of students;
  • Assist with development of visual aids and hands-on activities to facilitate learning;
  • Monitor students’ performance and assess their progress regularly 
  • Establish and maintain a safe and positive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages curiosity;
  • Encourage and motivate students for active engagement and participation;
  • Helping with classroom setup, material preparation, as well as realisation of organized and clean learning environment;
  • Providing individualized attention and support to students as they engage in learning activities and collaborate with peers
  • Assist with the assessment of students’ progress and providing feedback to the Main Teacher to determine areas of strength and where additional attention may be needed  
  • Communicate regularly with parents and families on  students’ progress and  maximizing positive relationship with them

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Kindergarten Education (Preschool Education);
  • At least 1 year relevant professional experience as an assistant teacher and/or caretaker;

  • Good communication skills in Amharic and English languages;

2.KG Main Teachers

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering lessons that cater to the individual learning needs of students.
  • Design and create effective lesson plans, visual aids and hands-on activities to facilitate learning. 
  • Monitor students’ performance and assess their progress regularly 
  • Habitually communicate students’ progress and other issues (if any) to the school management, parents and/or guardians on time;

3.Kindergarten Director

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing educational programs for Kindergarten students that align with the FDRE educational policy as well as the vision and missions of Skillmart Academy. 
  • Monitor the planning and delivery of lessons that cater to the individual learning needs of the students.
  • Ensure a safe and positive school environment that promotes learning and encourages cooperation;
  • Encourage and motivate staff and all other stakeholders to participate in school activities;
  • Develop and maintain effective, respectful and professional relationship with staff, students, and parents;
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the efficient operation of the Academy.
  • Supervising and evaluating the performance of teachers, support staff and other employees of the Academy.  
  • Planning and organizing special events, activities, and conduct teachers’ mentoring.
  • Communicating with parents or guardians of students, and promptly addressing any concerns or issues that they may have. 
  • Managing the budget and resources of the Academy, and ensuring that resources are utilized appropriately. 
  • Collaborating with the whole community of the Academy to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to learning for students.

4.College Dean

Summary of Job Requirements:

Any successful candidate for this advertised position is expected to be able to plan, coordinate, and direct all activities of the College’s Academic operations. S/he is expected to have a rich knowledge and experience of postgraduate, undergraduate as well as TVET program coordination in the Ethiopian context and more specifically the private sector. Moreover, the successful candidate for this advertised position will be able to initiate and design appropriate College level academic and administrative strategy and ensure its implementation, whenever necessary, representing the College in different matters and leading employees and coordinate their activities by creating /building appropriate linkage so as to attain desired result.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs administrative and all academic activities of all programs in the College;
  • Prepares the annual plan and ensures proper implementation upon approval;
  • Ensures that all the instructors execute their duties according to the given schedule;
  • Make sure that students are advised and supported to advance their studies properly in the college;
  • Controls and supervises support staff assigned in the College;
  • Deals with appeals from support staff and students within the College;
  • Ensures that all the facilities of the College are properly handled and utilized for effective operation;
  • Coordinates examinations conducted in the College, and makes sure that all assigned staff have executed their duties accordingly;
  • Ensure proper conduction of all continuous assessments and final examinations and that feedbacks are given immediately;

  • Consistently updates TTLMs, Trainers Guides, Learning Guides, session plans, and other reference materials in the libraries/demonstration rooms in collaboration with responsible bodies within and outside of the College;
  • Coordinates and monitors cooperative training programs at all places and levels;
  • Supervises, handles, and resolves disciplinary cases of the students, and other personnel under his/her jurisdiction;
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports with respect to all academic activities of the College, and
  • Carry out other activities as required.

  • MA/MSc in Project Management, Business Administration, Leadership, Management, Educational Leadership, and other related fields;
  • A minimum of 5 years directly related experience in the Ethiopian Higher Education sector of which at least two years as Dean/ Vice Dean/ Department Head/ Program Coordinator etc. in Private Higher Education Institutions;

Essential Competencies & Qualities

  • Familiarity to the FDRE’s Education sector policy and more specifically ETA’s regulations and systems;
  • Familiarity to TVET requirements of the country in general and the region in particular;
  • Oral & Written fluency in English and Amharic languages;
  • Knowledge of the theories, principles & practices of management;
  • Excellent facilitation and networking skills; proven experience in coordinating & leading team/s;
  • Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills;
