Grand Microfinance Institute Share Company is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the following positions within their organization.
Grand Microfinance Institution Share Company is a recently established Microfinance Institution dedicated to offering financial and non-financial services to the economically disadvantaged in Ethiopia. GMFI is inviting capable and eligible candidates to apply for the following positions at their Hawassa Branches:
Position 1: Branch Accountant and Account Clerk
Required Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Accounting or Accounting & Finance. Proficiency in IFRS, Peachtree Accounting, and possession of a Computer certificate is mandatory.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the roles of Accountant or Account Clerk. Computer skills are a prerequisite.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Branch Accountant and Account Clerk include posting individual client ledgers, reconciling general and individual client ledgers, producing bank statements, and performing all accounting activities to contribute to the Organization’s objectives. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Branch Accountants.
Place of Work: Four branches – Sebeta, Adama, Kera, and Kolfe.
Position 2: Branch Manager I
Required Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) in any business-related field. Successful completion of various MFI trainings, such as credit and default management, IFRS, risk management, and savings mobilization.
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or 3 years of experience as a Senior Customer Service Officer/Operations Officer in the MFI sector.
Responsibilities:
The Branch Manager’s role involves planning, organizing, coordinating, leading, and supervising the operational activities and staff of the branch. The aim is to achieve the Organization’s objectives. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Operations Manager.
