Awach SACCO Is a saving and credit cooperative established on 13/07/1999 E.C. in Arada Sub-city by Mr. Zerihun Sheleme, founder and general manager with 41 initial members. having in mind a long-range objective of encouraging saving mobilization culture and loan provision in the community with a strong commitment and belongingness, coupled with shared visions of the founders; Awach became a truly serving financial institution within a few years after the establishment.

Information Technology Department Head

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees, controls, and directs Network and Hardware infrastructure section, Software Infrastructure section including software development and operation of core banking system.
  • Direct the design, development, and implementation of the AWACH’s IT department Strategy and system.
  • Oversees, control and manage the electronical entire information systems in the organization.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Information Technology employees, communicate job goals, and evaluate performance of the IT systems and develop improvement ideas and manage the IT team.
  • Ensures backup systems are functioning smoothly and accesses to network are controlled.
  • Determine issue areas and promptly generate effective solutions.
  • Conduct periodic Information technology audit systems and evaluate and correct findings.
  • Ensure information security, safeguard resources, and ascertain that proper control mechanisms are put in place.
  • Safeguard resources, ensure information security, ensure control mechanisms are in place and functioning properly.
  • Utilize annual budget and ensure that it is used as intended and expected results are attained.
  • Direct and oversee all IT /Business Solutions related projects to ensure that they are delivered and deployed cost effectively.
  • Oversee and maintain a secure IT platform for the entire operations ensuring appropriate controlling mechanisms are implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure that all IT systems are implemented and maintained to the required standards.
  • Ensure the cooperative’s network infrastructure is secure, reliable, make sure of optimal performance, troubleshoot issues, monitor traffic and performance, enforce security measures, and provide user support.
  • Oversee standards: software development projects, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely delivery; coordinate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements; mentoring and guiding team members in software development best practices; conducting code reviews and ensuring high-quality standards; coordinating with other teams and departments to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of computer systems and equipment, ensure their proper functioning and optimal performance. Develop maintenance strategies and schedules, coordinating with vendors and service providers for repairs and maintenance contracts.
  • Oversee the system’s availability, stability, and security to support the banking operations. Oversee system configuration and customization, coordinating with vendors for system upgrades and enhancements,
  • Oversee systems development and enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems maintaining information security and business continuity.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Oversee the IT department relation and responsiveness for another department in the Awach.
  • Prepare, submit, and implement annual plan and Budget.
  • Follow up telecommunications infrastructure development plans and projects.
  • Follow up the legal, policy and strategies developed by concerned stakeholder and regulatory bodies on information technology to be compliance with of institute technology system and manage the IT Vendor relations.
  • Manage Multiple projects; plans, staffs, prioritizes and manages all phases of implementation for assigned projects; directs the design, development and implementation of new projects establishes budgets and timelines to Implement new or enhanced equipment’s, systems, programs or projects and monitor’s progress.
  • Generate and prepare overall department performance report for the leadership team.

Job Requirements

Education

  • MSC/BSC in Computer Science, MIS, software engineering.
  • Certified in Certified in two or more of the following certifications is a plus.

  • Certified Information Technology Manager (CITM)

General

  • For MSC (5 years) or if it is BSC (8 Years) proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant IT experience.

Knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of information analysis, technical management, and computer hardware/software systems.

Project Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall project activities from the inception to commissioning.
  • Prepare the project office plan and budget for duration the project life and put the Project milestone based on the project lifetime.
  • Administrate all the necessary bid process and selection of the consultant and contractors for the HQ building.
